About Essex James

When it comes to 2D & 3D art, illustration and visual system design, new technology drives my creative juices. Over the past 25 years, I have gained very valuable on the job experience as a Mechanical & graphics designer/artist, News Infographics Artist, Technical Illustrator, 3D modeler, and Open Sim Virtual Reality developer.

Moreover, I have developed new techniques and innovative ways as an architectural designer, 3D modeler, and environmental graphics sign designer for, creating 3D content and technical designs. These new techniques have open doors for Children’s Book illustrations, Game design, exhibit design, rapid prototype, and content development projects.

This lifelong journey has allowed me to be a part of project teams and individually to design & create visual art and graphics for National Park Service Interpretive Design Center, Florida A & M University, University of Central, Orlando Sentinel, The Tampa Tribune, Parsons Water Resources, VF Image wear and numerical Department of Defense contractor companies.

I graduated with a BS, in Graphics Art Technology for Florida A & M University and MA, Instructional Design & Technology from the University of Central Florida. I received additional graduate training in Modeling and Simulation at the University of Central Florida College of Engineering and Computer Science.

My Internship at the University of Central Florida’s Institute for Simulation and Training-Mixed Emerging Technology Learning Integration Lab allowed me to conduct research in next-generation 3D immersive virtual environment learning.

I am motivated by one of America most famous artist, botanist, chemist, scientist, inventor, and musician George Washington Carver:

“Since new developments are the products of a creative mind, we must, therefore, stimulate and encourage that type of mind in every way possible”    -George Washington Carver
